This "Links to Ponder" page offers resources and links for Christian learning, spiritual growth, and simply things to think about.
PLEASE NOTE: While I check out all links before adding them, the Internet is an ever-changing place. If you find a link that is now unsuitable, or just doesn't work, please email me and I'll fix it!
| Christian Meditation: "Christian Meditation: Is It Really Christian?". This article on All About God discusses the Biblical references to meditation, then goes on with quotes from Jim Downing (author of "Meditation"), Rick Warren (author of "The Purpose Driven Life") and Dr. Bruce Demarest (author of "Satisfy Your Soul"). |
| "The Communication of Witnessing" by JoJo Tabares: "Are you a Christian?"
Read the rest of this excellent article on JoJo's The Art of Eloquence website.
"Uh, no I'm not." "Well, then you're going to HELL!" This is probably not the best way to bring people to Christ. I have seen well-meaning Christians who are so on fire for Jesus that they practically beat unsuspecting souls over the head with the Gospel and are surprised at the reaction it elicits. People stop listening when they feel that their beliefs are being attacked. This phenomenon is what I call "Screaming in a Deaf Man's Ear". He can't hear what you're saying, but you sure are making him angry. How you say something can be even more important than what you say. |
| Yvonne Reeves-Chong's Living Epistles Blog gives some great thoughts to ponder, like her September 25 post, "The Right To Remain Silent". Yvonne is one of my "fusion marketing" partners - she offers my Christian meditation CDs on her website, Seedtime & Harvest, as well as her own unique "sowable Word" gift cards, and Cynthia Boyer's "Treasures of His Grace" prints. |
| More on Christian meditation: "What Is Christian Meditation", from GotQuestions.org. This website offers weekly Christian questions and answers, including references to other helpful resources. |
| Bible study aid: e-Sword. This free Bible software package is a terrific tool - I use it myself. Program creator Rick Meyers says: "e-Sword is feature rich and user friendly with more capabilities than you would expect in a free software package... The real work, however, was put in by the godly men and women who devoted countless years creating the texts that have been made available for our benefit." |
| Christian Articles: FaithWriters.com. Find Christian articles of all kinds, or find a place to publish your own Christian articles and sell your Christian e-books. Membership is free and includes a writer's community forum, writer's resources, free reprint articles, and more. |
| Christian Speakers: Speaking On Faith. Owner Sheila Rae of Speaking On Faith will speak to your group about God's word. Sheila says, "We cater to Christian groups, schools, and college or to any group that wants to hear God's word. What makes us unique is the fact that we CREATE programs for groups because the presentation is not about Sheila Rae it is about you and your group." Sheila speaks on a variety of topics that deal with Christian Life, her favourite being "the Food of the Bible" - "It gives people an innovative way to read the Bible". Sheila Rae operates out of Detroit, Michigan. |
| I had to include a link to my own church, St. Andrews Anglican Church in Trail, BC. We have a small but warm, friendly and active church, with your choice of "Book of Common Prayer" traditional services or more modern services from the "Book of Alternative Services". Read all about who we are and what we do, and feel free to join us in worship if you're in the area! |
"I will meditate in Thy precepts, and have respect unto Thy ways. I will delight myself in Thy statutes: I will not forget Thy word."
